Learning Center - Studio/Wool Processing Pavilion
The Learning Center - Studio/wool processing pavilion will be a set of buildings that connect with an inner courtyard which is the heart of the space. The buildings consist of the main studio, teaching classrooms and a dormitory for staying guests. The roofs interlock to create shaded walkways as well as passive solar will be used throughout. There will be a living wall on the North side of the buildings which creates a carbon sink because of the passive filtration of the wool and plants as well as cools the building in the summer and insulates in the winter.
Re-purposed building materials, mostly steel, wood and local stone are utilized, again to minimize carbon footprint as well as re-use waste material that would go into the landfill.
Finish date is set for summer 2024
